Ditte Juul Jørgensen

Ms. Ditte Juul Jørgensen is the Director-General for Energy at the European Commission. In this capacity, she leads work to ensure access to affordable, secure and sustainable energy in Europe as part of the energy transition towards climate neutrality, and steering work for secure energy supplies and the phase out of Russian fossil fuels in the EU during the energy crisis.


Ditte has more than 30 years’ experience in the European Commission, leading policy development, international negotiations and enforcement in the fields of international trade, competition, sustainable development, climate and energy. Her previous positions include Head of Cabinet for Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, leading the Cabinet in developing and enforcing competition policy, senior management in the Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Counsellor in the European Union Delegation to the United Nations in New York.


Ms. Juul Jørgensen is a graduate in law from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
