Dr Yaser Faquih
Dr Yaser Faquih has over 20 years of experience in the fields of strategic planning, economics, oil markets, the technology sector, and research institutions. He has worked with leading entities such as Saudi Aramco, the Saudi G20 Secretariat, and the Ministry of Economy and Planning. His expertise includes providing economic and strategic advisory services to senior leadership, ministerial councils, and high-level committees on a wide range of issues including national and global economic trends, energy and climate files, foreign trade, digital economy, and more. He has also represented the Kingdom in various international meetings and forums related to these topics.
Dr. Yaser holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from
Vanderbilt University, and a Master’s degree in Economics from the same university. He later earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He currently serves as the General Supervisor of the General Department of Economic Research and Insights (at the rank of Deputy Minister). Additionally, Dr. Yaser is a board member of Tarshid (National Energy Services Company) and a member of the Board of the Saudi Association for Energy Economics.
