Alexander Döll

Chief Executive Officer of the Methanol Institute (MI)

Alexander Döll is Chief Executive Officer of the Methanol Institute (MI), the global trade association representing the methanol industry. Leading a team across Washington D.C., Brussels, Delhi, Beijing, and Singapore, he works with industry leaders, governments, regulators, and international organisations to advance methanol's role in both traditional chemical markets and the global energy transition.

Prior to joining MI, Alexander served as Global Group Director for Government & Regulatory Affairs at OCI Global, where he was responsible for the company's engagement on regulatory, public policy, trade, and market access issues across key international markets. Working closely with business leadership, he supported OCI's methanol, ammonia, and melamine businesses in navigating an increasingly complex global policy and regulatory environment.

Earlier in his career, Alexander held a range of senior commercial, government affairs, and public policy leadership positions at Dow. Living and working across Africa, and the Middle East, he partnered with governments, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to support industrial development, manufacturing growth, infrastructure investment, and market expansion across some of the world's fastest-growing economies.

With more than two decades of leadership experience across industry and public policy, Alexander is recognised for building bridges between business and government in complex international environments. His work focuses on the intersection of industrial competitiveness, energy security, trade, and the energy transition.

Alexander regularly speaks at international industry and policy forums on energy security, industrial competitiveness, maritime decarbonisation, and the evolving role of methanol in the global economy.
