Thank you to all who attended the workshop complementing our multi-client study into the IMO 2020 transition. We hope you found it valuable and enjoyed the opportunity to engage with so many of you.

A recording of the presentations, slides and Q&A from our IMO: Vision 2020 Workshop in London on 27 February can be viewed below (visible for licensed users), and you can also download the slides in PDF format

The implications of IMO 2020 are that most refiners will be obliged to shift product or crude slates to reduce their exposure to the HSFO market, with significant implications for global crude oil flows and the relative value of sweet and sour crudes. Our analysis points to a new paradigm for valuing sour crudes based on the sulphur content of residual fractions.

In the video, Amrita Sen and Robert Campbell discuss our latest views on what the IMO 2020 transition will mean for oil and oil products markets, and our analysts answer questions from participants at the event.

The deep-dive report contains our views on how the IMO 2020 transition will impact oil markets. It can now be accessed online. Data behind our analysis of the IMO 2020 transition are also available on our data service web page.
